As a test I looked searched for an item to see how Google treated us, the little guys, after hearing that Google is catering to large entities like Amazon and Walmart. I was surprised at the results:

Yes, the big guys came up first, covering the whole results page. BUT then, when I sorted by rating the whole page with 1 exception was ALL ECRATER!!! Everyone of them were 5 stars!!!

I must say I was as proud as a new momma. They weren't my stores, but they were us! Go Ecrater Store Owners! Keep up the great service and integrity until some day, everybody will head to Ecrater first, instead of thinking "the other places" when they want something!

Comment by Linda on November 7, 2009 at 5:58am: Boy, you're right about that! It is depressing that we're doing so much work only to get busted at the gate. All we can do now is make sure we have really good titles and keep our ads fresh, at least quarterly. The Ecrater Group on Yahoo sends reminders to do just that. I just changed all my category pictures, hoping that'll help thru the holiday shopping season.

Comment by Comycgyrl Collectibles on November 6, 2009 at 11:08am: I can say this I have had traffic in the 30K's for the past 3 months...since the change...it has halved! So havnt sales. When I did a random search for an item using just basic info, it was all Amazon, Walmart and such for the first 3 pages I finally showed up on the 4th page I use to be top billing... most people dont wait til the 4th or 5th page to buy something. On the flip side, if they by some chance click lowest to highest when searching I find that the big name stores go on the back burner....we can always hope that is what happens.
