I was sooo excited this week to get my second order on my eCrater store. Amazing how small things can excite me these days. It was a very small order for a lamp part, but hey! It's an order. After figuring out the Google Checkout problem, I was ready to go.
This has been a tiring week physically as I'm weeding my flower gardens...the weeds are taller than the flowers! Trying to get my piano teaching schedule set for the year has been a challenge as the parents don't seem to be returning calls t…

I'm feeling pretty good about what I'm getting done on my site now. I still have pictures to add and a few more products but the majority of the lamp parts are out there. Yeah! Now I can enjoy making more lamps and doing the creative part that I enjoy. I like doing the computer stuff too but it seems to have taken over the creative part for a while. I just finished a new teapot lamp that I'm calling Grandma's Rose Teacup Lamp because it was a teacup and saucer my Gram had a fresh flower arrangem…

I know I haven't been out here for awhile so forgive my ignorance if I missed something. I'm trying to post products on my eCrater store. I can't get the pictures to be the right size. I've resized them in Microsoft Office Picture Manager to 93x212 and they still show up as big in the product listing. I thought eCrater was supposed to automatically resize the thumbnails. I can't find where to ask this question on the forum either, so I'm asking here. Any ideas?

We just returned home from two weeks of burials. We buried Mom on her birthday, May 11th. As we were getting on the exit ramp to home, we got a phone call from my husband's dad saying his brother had just died. He was 49 and died of sirosis of the liver. It has not been a fun couple weeks, but I'm home now and all my products are listed on eCrater except the lamp parts. I've been procrastinating on those and now need to get them listed too. I'm glad to have something to think about other than de…

Just as we were getting off the exit to arrive home yesterday, my husband's dad called to say his brother died. So we had to go home, repack, and leave for Ohio. We are now trying to comfort his family. His brother lived in Florida and is being cremated. We still don't know when. His mom asked me to do a service in his memory here at the house for just family. I've never done anything like this but I know God will help me say the right words to bring comfort and healing.
Will this ever end?

We are driving home from a week long visit with my family. We left home Saturday; drove 8 hours but it took us 10 to get home as we stopped in Angelica, NY. It is a fun little town with several antique shops. It was a nice diversion to a long drive. We also stopped in Johnson City at the huge Christian bookstore where I purchased more than enough books to keep me reading until the next visit! On Sunday my family went to church with Dad to help him through our first Mother's Day without Mom. Six…

I haven't listed anything in a month because of my Mom dieing. I haven't had the energy or interest to work on it but I know I need to. How do you get past issues in your life that cause you to lose interest in business? I have given myself three weeks off. I feel it is now time to get back to work but I still don't have the "oomph". I guess I'll have to force myself tomorrow. I've had some custom orders to fill since the beginning of the year and that has helped to keep my business going. I've…

I finished one lampshade from the big order I received and it looks great. I'll post a picture once I take it to the customer. I want a picture of it on the lamp base. I've started a second one and hope to have it done so I can take two with me. It feels good when something I enjoy making turns out looking as great as it should. It looks better than "China" made! I hope the customer thinks so too.

Hmm...this year isn't starting out too bad. I've had two orders for custom shades. The first order is for 16 drum shades for a funeral home in town and the second order is for 2 drum shades for a customer in PA. I like orders. They are profitable. I'd really like some sales on my websites though. So far none and not many visitors either.

Anyone else going through the inventory time? I just finished counting lamp bases. Ugh...everytime I look at them I think, I need to make a shade for that one or this one, or I forgot I had that one. Where do the time and the good intentions go? In my cupboards, out of sight! Until inventory time that is.
