Will Rogers Said
Will Rogers, who died in a plane crash with Wylie Post in 1935, was probably the greatest political sage this country has ever known.
Here's some of his sayings'
1. Never slap a man who's chewing tobacco.
2. Never kick a cow chip on a hot day.
3. There are 2 theories to arguing with a woman...neither works.
4. Never miss a good chance to shut up.
5. Always drink upstream from the herd.
6. If you find yourself in a hole, stop digging.

I copied this from another ning site, and made the call while commenting on the original post. It really is fast and painless and now I am free from (most) telemarketers!
This is a friendly IAO public service announcement by one of its supporters:
For those of you who may not know this, as of September, your cell phone number will go public. All cell phone numbers are being released to telemarketing companies and you will start to receive sales calls.
YOU WILL BE CHARGED FOR T…

Our posting marathon really turned out well, folks, everyone's participation has been fantastic! The hope was to get everyone in the spirit and habit of posting here in preparation for the upcoming holiday selling season, and it seems to have been successful. A few hours before the close of the marathon, I found the following results.
We gained
12 new members, had
40 new albums posted,
10 new blog posts, and an
unbelievable 50 recipes posted, including 26 in the new…

I copied this over on another ning site. I knew this was coming but didn't realize it was now! I called the number while commenting on this original post and registered my cell phone. You can also register your home phone, just call from the phone you want blocked. As it says in the post it takes 20 seconds, call is answered immediately and all you do is enter your phone number. This is valid for 5 years, but doesn't start for 31 days after you register, and some telemarketing calls are still al…

When the Dog Days of summer roll around, retailers begin having visions of sugarplums. Yes, it's time to start promoting your store to compete for those holiday dollars. That's why you will want to join in on our posting marathon coming up August 16-31.
Posting marathon? What's that! What do I do? Easy, just get together your photos, slide shows and recipes, dig up a joke or write a blog about your past holiday selling experiences. Make a list (and check it twice) of your gift items and put the…

I was perusing ads on google product search this morning and came across this ad for a chip and dip set. I wanted to share it for two reasons. One, bad marketing, two, I almost fell out of my chair laughing.
"I don't believe we ever used this set - I always thought it was not very sanitary to serve chip and dip, I kept remembering people taking a bite of a chip and then dunking it in the dip."
That stopped me in my tracks!

I have added some of my store's items on our shopping page here, and I just checked my google analytics. I have always gotten around 6 or 8 store visits from this site monthly. Today my analytics reports I have had 26 visits from this site. Cold hard facts, it's working.
Adding an item is as easy as making a comment to this blog post. Use the links in the top of the comment box to add your photo and store link, and to bold or underline your headline. Be sure to add your store link. People can't…

A friend emailed me this story, and I just had to share it. I've HAD bad days, butt...
If you don't laugh out loud after you read this you are in a coma! This is
even funnier when you realize it's real!
Rob is a commercial saturation diver for Global Divers in Louisiana . He
performs underwater repairs on offshore drilling rigs.
Below is an E-mail he sent to his sister. She then sent it to radio station

Irishman went to a pet shop and asked how many budgies were in stock. "We have 99" replied the shop owner "Give us the lot" said the Irish man, paid for them and left. He went to a tailors shop and had 99 pockets sewn into a jacket, put a budgie in each pocket, went up to the Post Office Tower and jumped off. He hit the ground with an almighty smack and lay there groaning until a passer-by came and asked him what had happened. "I don't know sur" he replied "but that's the last time I try that bu…

Everyone's been so hard at it , so here's a beer and a joke for you. Take a break and enjoy!
An Irishman walks into a bar and orders three glasses of Guiness, drinking them one at a time. Noticing this odd ritual, the bartender explains that the beer goes flat when poured and informs the man his beer would be much fresher if he ordered one glass at a time.
The Irishman explains he began this custom with his two brothers, who have moved to America and Australia, respectively. This is their way…

A day or so ago, we were discussing Silkfair and Plumdrop, I complained of a spammy review left on my page at Plumdrop. Here is a response from Silkfair that turned up in my email today. I felt I should share it with everyone in fairness to silkfair. This went a long way towards smoothing things out, as far as I am concerned.

Okay, I'm one of those skeptical curmudgeon types that doesn't see the need for all the newfangled la di das, so I figured everyone uses paypal, that's all I need. Even though I feel ecrater kind of forced google checkout on me, I have gotten 2 sales this week on GC, my only 2. I admit it is easy to use, and I think I am going to like getting my money right away, so with that in mind maybe I'll like it.LOL!
I am excited, my group at boomj,…

I have just started putting my site on the search engines. When I first started coming to this site, I saw Comycgyrl's and Bookbarn's "vote for me here" things, so I followed them to
Top 100 eCrater Stores, and after reviewing them, I signed up myself. Well, I am happy to say I am #3 on that site! It was easy to use and I have my new banner displayed there. Also the page rank is 18210, which is pretty high. I also followed them to…
