beachcat's bargains "CASH BACK" - Beware!!

This was sent to me by a friend: It happened at Wal-Mart (Supercenter Store #1279, 10411 N Freeway 45, Houston, TX 77037) a month ago. I bought a bunch of stuff, over $150, & I glanced at my receipt as the cashier was handing me the bags. I saw a cash-back of $40. I told her I didn't request a cash back & to delete it. She said I'd have to take the $40 because she couldn't delete it. I told her to call a supervisor. Supervisor came & said I'd have to take it. I… Continue

Pretty Jewelry Things Store Look at Your Clutter, See Your Money

Recently I was trapped in a hotel on a rainy weekend and I got sucked into a marathon of Clean House. (This is why I don’t keep cable at home. If stuff is on, I just fall into it.) I was mesmerized by the amount of stuff that some of these people had. Stuff was piled to the ceilings, bursting out of the garages, and filling every closet. As a neat freak, it was disturbing to say the least. But as I watched, what really got my attention was the amount of money that was invested in this clutter.… Continue

MidcenturyMarilyn Check out the shopping page--it works

I have added some of my store's items on our shopping page here, and I just checked my google analytics. I have always gotten around 6 or 8 store visits from this site monthly. Today my analytics reports I have had 26 visits from this site. Cold hard facts, it's working. Adding an item is as easy as making a comment to this blog post. Use the links in the top of the comment box to add your photo and store link, and to bold or underline your headline. Be sure to add your store link. People can't… Continue

mybookbarn eCrater Photos

After commenting on a Forum post here & being informed that some photos in listings here on the Shopping page aren't showing up I went & read the eCrater forum. D has moved some eCrater store photos to a new Server which means it broke a lot of links to our photos. That is why some aren't showing up on the Shopping page (for those of us who link directly to our photos in our stores) & also aren't showing up on Google Search. So, please everyone that has linked directly to their phot… Continue

beachcat's bargains Don't Waste Money on Organic Grapefruit...

Not all vegetables and fruits are created equal especially when it comes to the pesticides (and amount of them) typically required to control pests during the growing process. Eggplant, watermelon, and avocado require small amounts of pesticides before making their way to your shopping cart. If you try to buy organic but need to save on food costs you may want to consider the 16 fruits and veggies that have low pesticide levels:
