I wanted to toss this request out there real quick. I'm currently working on a new blogspot for my eCrater store, Clamshell Cottage Vintage Collectables and would like to have an eCrater logo to put in the sidebar. I can't use the ecrater.ning badge because I registered here under Covet And Love It Vintage Fashions originally and that would show up as the avatar. I was wondering if anyone knows where I can find a good logo to advertise eCrater. You know, something that says eCrater Stores-Whe…

A while back I'd done considerable grousing in a blog about losing out on some vintage lace panels to an antique dealer while cruising my favorite thrifts. I thought I'd check back again since I'd halfheartedly sorted through the bins after she was done.
I mean, what the heck. Those bins are pretty doggone big and after sorting through one, the rest start to look like mountains of fabric, lol.
This time, I went and got a couple of those empty fabric carts on wheels from one of the boys in th…

Will Rogers Said
Will Rogers, who died in a plane crash with Wylie Post in 1935, was probably the greatest political sage this country has ever known.
Here's some of his sayings'
1. Never slap a man who's chewing tobacco.
2. Never kick a cow chip on a hot day.
3. There are 2 theories to arguing with a woman...neither works.
4. Never miss a good chance to shut up.
5. Always drink upstream from the herd.
6. If you find yourself in a hole, stop digging.
7. The quickest way to double your…

Wow...We had a great time last night at Cub Scouts. We got to visit our local fire department and then we all went for pizza. I found out that nobody is doing a current wesite for our pack...so, I offered to do one for them. So the next couple of days I will not have time for my store stuff...even though I have more to list. I have already started working on our new site http://pack77-wv.zoomshare.com. It shouldn't take but a few hours (but I have to go and take some pics of our building and tha…

Well, I did it again. Found beaucoup yardage of a lovely pale pink moire two weeks ago while I was sweeping SC a la Sherman, put it somewhere (okay, I admit I hid it from myself) and don't have a clue where! I mean, this yardage would fit in a square Priority Mail box so we're talking bigger than a breadbox here.
Sometimes I feel like I'm swimming in fabric. I'd really counted on using that material for some of my handcrafted pillows. Why is it that the one item you're looking for, disappears…

Life isn't like a box of chocolates. It's more like a jar of jalapenos.. What you do today, might burn your butt
tomorrow.
'Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of
arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to
skid in sideways - Wine in one hand - chocolate in the other -
body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming 'WOO HOO, What
a Ride'

As a test I looked searched for an item to see how Google treated us, the little guys, after hearing that Google is catering to large entities like Amazon and Walmart. I was surprised at the results:
Yes, the big guys came up first, covering the whole results page. BUT then, when I sorted by
rating the whole page with 1 exception was
ALL ECRATER!!! Everyone of them were 5 stars!!!
I must say I was as proud as a new momma. They weren't my stores, but they were us!
Go Ecrater St…

We who have taught, or love children who have been taught, know this is funny!
From the diary of a Pre-School Teacher
My five-year old students are learning to read.
Yesterday one of them pointed at a picture in a zoo book and said,
"Look at this! It's a frickin' elephant!"
I took a deep breath, then asked...."What did you call it?"
"It's a
frickin' elephant! It says so on the picture!"
And so it does...

Well, only one more week at this location and then back to the island and boy am I ready. October has not been a good month to be me.
One of my best friends has a daughter who started attending Warton and is interested in fashion merchandising and asked me if she could work with me for some experience. I said, sure. She's always seemed like a quiet and polite girl and very reliable, so over the past few weeks I let her answer phone calls about garments and spell me on networking during period…

Wow, I can't believe today is just about done! It has been busy. I started first thing with updating my spring gap typing website...have a ways to go with that yet. Going to spend some time looking for places to advertise my ecrater store. Guess I just keep making more work for myself. There always seems to be something else I want to do as far as on the PC. Would be nice to have it work out to be 'worth my while'.

Liz and I went to see this movie when it was out in the theaters and thought it hilarious, and now its out on DVD.... Red box here we went....
Will discuss redbox another time but here is a synopsis of the movie.
For three years, Andrew Paxton has slaved as the assistant to Margaret Tate, hard-driving editor at a New York publisher. When Margaret, a Canadian, faces deportation for an expired visa, she hatches a scheme to marry Andrew - he agrees if she'll promise a promotion. A skeptical INS a…

Yes that's right.. I said it..CHANGES!
Looks like its time for an EARLY SPRING CLEANING!
If you are noticing a change in your showings on google...then here may be some of the reasons why. Now I checked to see if my products were there, and they are, but the ones with violations got moved to the back of the class, so I have made it a point to begin some cleaning...
I know no one wants to miss out on any of the upcoming Christmas SALES!!!! I sure as heck don't. So here is what we can do.
