Most of the kiddie buttons are on the other side. I will have to take pics of them cause they are too cute!

Old buttons can be so pretty ! My Mom has a huge box of them. She has some of them in pretty jars for sale at their little store. She gave me some too to sew onto my hand sewn items or to use when I make clothes... Organically Yours, Diana

eCrater Has Updated Global Categories

For those of us that sell vintage - collectible buttons and sewing items, it was frustrating because we didn't have a proper global category in which to list them. I had contacted the eCrater team a while back about this and had thought they were probably not going to follow up with my request, so I kinda just forgot about it. Well, I was wrong - they have followed up and added "Sewing" under the global category of "Collectibles."

Thank you BobbiesButtonsandBows for the compliment. I can't tell you how many jars of buttons I have! I've always saved buttons that have fallen off of garments and have purchased some at yard sales.

I once went through an old pearl button cutting factoury in Guttenberg, Iowa while out on a road trip. The manufacturing of buttons in this country was a huge industry! I learned at the old factoury tour that the sale of buttons helped the economy durring the U.S. Revolutionary War to WWII. I guess it's an artical that we all take for granted.

I like the vintage glass "Moonglow" button from Germany on your ecrater site. It does look more like a relic than a button.

I also like on the button card where it says, "Guaranteed Washable." Not many people know that some buttons had to be removed before laundering.

*Who ever really things about the importance of a button, huh? Well they are. I can't fancy myself tying by trousers with twine like Daisy on the Beverly Hillbillies!

Have a lovely Sunday and thank you BobbiesButtonsandBows for the compliment!
