Other selling Sites

I was wondering if anyone was using selling sites other then ecrater. I've been using ecrater & eBay. My ecrater store has been getting traffic but NO sells. I've decided to restucture my setup and see if that changes things. On the other hand i've been doing ok on eBay my profit margin is ok but eBay nickel and dime you to death.

So i've been wondering if any of you have had success with other sites or if you had some words of advice to get the sells going with my ecrater store.

There are many tips to keep your ads in everyone's eyes. Tweaking your ads, meaning changing the words around, altering the title, etc see to refresh your ad (as if making it a new one). Take more pictures...more is better in my opinion.

The search engines are aware of duplicate listing from the same seller. They will generally keep the most popular on top (Ecrater ranks higher than many others).

I have an Amazon Marketplace store where I sell NIB toys, DVDS, books and CDs I no longer want/need. Quite frankly, I am able to get much more for things like toys through Amazon than ecrater. When I fulfill my order, I always include my card which has my ecrater link on it and explain that if they are buying a particular toy, they might want to check out the great deal I have on kids clothes, too.

The only way I get more ecrater traffic is usually the first day I post to a different Craigslist and then it spikes. Or, I joined a few "mom" discussion boards and Yahoo groups, Once or twice a day I post some innocuous comment, but the important part is that my signature line has my ecrater store information. But when I slack and don't regularly do that, I rarely see sales.

I've also got my store listed on Facebook and a few friends have referred THEIR friends to my site. Word-of-mouth does work but like I said, you really have to work at it.

I also find that if I slack the traffic really slows down. I was wondering how you use Craiglist to your advantage. I tried it a few time and didn't get any response, feedback or traffic.... My spam mail seem to increase... LOL. I'm really interested in how to make it work for me, so when you get the time I'd really like to hear from you.

I'm in the process of building a web page that links all my sites together in one place. This will also inable me to make a much simpler business card. I'm also going to use it to start a mailing list so that I can send out newsletters to all my past customers as well as attract new ones.

I'm right now selling Women's clothing, Children's clothing, cosmetics, fragrance body oil and handbags; I'm going to seperate things and sell them in different selling platforms and use the website to link it all together. So I've broken my ecrater store down and am in the process of rebuilding it. My plan is to have all sites and the web page ready for a grand opening launch on October 1st.

I sell on ecrater, blujay and bonanzle, I am doing real well on blujay and ecrater but the bon site? only 1 sale. now I have been with blujay sense 2005 and ecrater same but just this year re-opened it back up. the Bonanzle just joined this year also giving it some time on there to see. I used to sell on ioffer and did really well until they messed the site up. and yahoo auction I did real well but they closed used to sell on over stock had some sales there but the fees I don't like fees!
ebay was my first place I sold on back in 1999 and boy did I make the money but then the fees so back in 2004 I started selling on the above site. oh and I did a few others with no luck YHB, wensy, punderhere dead for me..

Thank You Deb for the info I checked out the links you supplied, it was interesting homework I got some Ideas. I'm almost done with my website and I have put together a promotional campaign. I'm going to use ecrater and auctiva to start off and I'll add CoreCommerece and Amazon in a couple of months. I feel the outcome will be good.

I get over 900 people walking into my store every day...there are tons of great info here if you look for it to help boost sales in your ecrater stores. I only sell on ecrater.
