Listing clothes from a factory sale

Does anyone know about listing clothes from a factory store/sale? I live near a distributor of designer adult and children's clothes. I bought some children's clothes from a tent sale they had recently. These are obviously brand new and tagged from a store with price reduction tags. However, the designer name has been marked through with a marker. Can I still sell them and can I use the brand name? The name is still readable and the tags have the name on them. I would be honest that they were bought at a factory sale but don't want any problems with copyright, etc.

Yes, you can sell them and you can use the designer name. No need to mention in a listing that they are from a factory sale, but be sure to mention that the inside designer label has been marked to prevent store returns. Mention that the item is brand new, never worn and whether is still has tags or not. I always remove store tags but manufacturer tags remain on the item. Good luck with the sales.

Thanks so much. I wasn't sure why they marked out the name but preventing store returns makes sense. I thought maybe they wanted to make sure people couldn't resell and use their name. I live in a rather small town where shopping isn't the best and these were a great deal. One reason I like selling designer things when I can find them is to give other people in rural or small towns a chance to own them easily.

I believe the only reason for the tag mark thru is so that they can't be returned to the store where they sell the full price merchandise. I have seen many of these items for sale at various locations, so I assume you can resell them. Just give the specifics about them and any flaws if there are any and you should be ok.
