New Member Orientation

Welcome to eCrater Stores, a fun place to promote your store. There are several things you can do here to promote yourself and to help promote eCrater too. But first, please read the site rules, and remember you can only promote your eCrater store here.

Let's start on your page. Ning has a lot of great premade templates that are customizable, so it's easy (and fun!) to make your page stand out. You can change background, text, font, layout, etc. Ning also has some add on applications. This is where you can add aps for rss feeds (twitter, blogspot, etc.) and the text box for your eCrater widget and some other fun stuff. Add photos and albums and you are well on your way to a great looking site.

Now it's time to explore the rest of the site. First, click on the links page and add a link to your store. Just takes a sec and it's kind of a store directory. Next check out the groups page. We've got some interesting ones, and all groups are open to all members, so even if you don't sell what the group is geared for, you will still make friends. Or start a new group, and remember that comments are weblinks.

Do you like to run specials, sales or coupons? Post these on the Weekly Specials page, these should be short term sale offers, so please include an expiration date so we know when to remove your promotion. The Shopping Page is where you can post your items for sale, and it's as easy as posting a comment. Just remember to place a clickable link in each posting or the post will be deleted. Besides, you want someone to be able to go directly to your store from the item. There are a lot of categories on the Shopping Page, but if we've overlooked one you need, just ask.

Post photos and albums, we are always looking for fresh albums to feature. Post a recipe, I need ideas! Post a blog for everyone to enjoy (read rules first please). Check out the forum, especially our reference section for research, and add any links you find useful for research; also the site submission links for seo's/directories to promote your store.

Now that you've done all that, go visit some other members and leave them a comment (weblink) so they know you were there! Remember to come back frequently to update your page and posts and make a few comments.
